## Portraits and a cake moment from Katrina & Santiago’s wedding

Katrina & Santiago’s Fallbrook, California, wedding collection includes close portraits, wider compositions and a photograph beside their cake. This three-image selection begins with their foreheads touching. The wider frame places them on either side of an arched entrance, with room to see the shape of the dress. The cake photograph brings the couple close again, with a plate held between them.

### Balance a close portrait with a wider setting

Compare how a portrait reads when the setting takes up more of the frame. The entrance photograph makes the distance between the couple part of the composition; the closer portrait keeps attention on their faces and hands. Include both kinds of reference when explaining the balance you want between couple portraits and photographs that show the surroundings.
